Table Mountain is with out a doubt South Africa's best known landmark and premier tourist attraction. A rotating cable car gives visitors a thrilling ride to the top of 1086 metre (3563ft) high Table Mountain, providing spectacular views of the ocean and city below. Its flat summit measures nearly 3km (2 Miles) from end to end. Adult tickets are R160 and childrens tickets are R80. It is however advisable to pay an extra R10 per ticket and book online to miss the queues. For the more adventurous of you, you can take one of the many paths to the top. Depending on fitness levels it should take about 2 hours but be prepared with water and snacks for the hike. The weather can change very quickly so don't be too proud to turn back if neccessary - its a good sign when the cable way is open!
